PRESENTERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE STAGE DEBUT AWARDS 2018 INCLUDING AWARD WINNING ACTORS 

CUSH JUMBO, ADRIAN LESTER, AND MATHEW HORNE

ALONGSIDE PERFORMANCES BY ANAIS MITCHELL (COMPOSER/LYRICIST OF HADESTOWN) 

AND MIRIAM-TEAK LEE (STARRING IN HAMILTON AND WINNER OF BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL, THE STAGE DEBUT AWARDS 2017)

 

Star of stage and screen Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife/Fight, Josephine and I, Common) will be hosting The Stage Debut Awards in association with Access Entertainment on Sunday 23 September, alongside further presenters; Adrian Lester OBE, Jodie Prenger, Ruthie Henshall, Mathew Horne, Michael Grandage, Preeya Kalidas, James Graham and Paule Constable.

Alongside exclusive performances by Anais Mitchell performing Why We Build A Wall from Hadestown and Miriam-Teak Lee performing I’m Here from The Color Purple

Cush Jumbo (host) said “I’m thrilled to be hosting the second The Stage Debut Awards this year. I’m very passionate about the continuing need to support emerging talent and champion our rising stars whether they be actors, directors, writers or designers. These awards celebrate new voices in a huge way.”

The Stage Debut Awards celebrate the very best breakthrough talent in theatre, from actors and directors to designers, writers, composers and lyricists, all of whom have made their professional debuts in the past year. These awards are the first of their kind to recognise outstanding emerging theatre talent.

The Stage Debut Awards will also be live streamed on The Stage’s Facebook page from 8.30pm on Sunday 23, 2018.

The inaugural The Stage Debut Awards in association with Access Entertainment took place on September 17, 2017. Guests at the awards ceremony included the most influential figures in the performing arts world from Grammy and Olivier Award-winning actress Amber Riley to the director of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris.
