“We found Isabel Perón during a late-night Wikipedia binge – the world’s first female president who went from nightclub dancer to running Argentina, kept Evita’s corpse hanging in her dining room, survived coups and literal wizards… then somehow got completely erased from history. We became obsessed with her story, travelled to Argentina to investigate, failed miserably, and turned the whole disaster into a mega-musical sequel no one asked for. It’s about power, women, and the strange ways history remembers – or forgets – them.”

JUDITH DIMANT PRODUCTIONS TODAY ANNOUNCES
SH!T THEATRE’S EVITA TOO
A MUSICAL ABOUT ISABEL PERÓN,
THE FIRST EVER FEMALE PRESIDENT
The face-painted duo and Fringe favourites behind some of the UK’s most chaotic theatre are back with their trademark blend of research trips, political engagement, humour and comedy. Rebecca Biscuit and Louise Mothersole have transformed their fact-finding mission to Argentina into a barmy celebration of history’s most forgotten female leader.
Following a first season in 2022, Judith Dimant Productions, supported by the Southbank Centre, today announce a revised and expanded production of Sh!t Theatre’s EVITA TOO which will open at the Southbank Centre for a limited run.
EVITA TOO looks at forgotten female presidents, notably the first woman president in the world, populism, and legacy. With the pairs’ signature collage of DIY documentary and original songs, this Fringe First Award winner proves that Sh!t Theatre can turn the most obscure historical footnotes into theatre.
Directed by Ursula Martinez with original music by Sh!t Theatre, this is what happens when research procrastination becomes an art form and history’s wrongs get righted through theatrical anarchy.
EVITA TOO opens at the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room on 11 December, with previews from 9 December and runs until 31 December.

Sh!t Theatre return to the first ever two-woman performance art mega musical about the first ever female president of a country in the history of the world, and her name is…?
Join disco dictators Becca and Louise for the wild story of Isabel Peron, Gogo dancer turned president, who led Argentina for 18 disastrous months before being overthrown in a military coup.
During the reign of the first ever female president of a country in the history of the world, Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice were writing their first blockbuster musical about President Isabel Peron’s dead husband’s even deader ex-wife. And now, nobody remembers Isabel.
EVITA TOO tells Isabel’s shocking story and the story of Sh!t Theatre who, discovering she is still alive, travel across Argentina and Spain in search of the mysterious recluse who is living in Madrid.
Becca and Louise save the footage they’ve taken on their trip, delve into some archives and make a musical to match Tim and Andrew’s, while finding that their lives and Isabel’s life surprisingly and tragically intertwine.
Sh!t Theatre are Rebecca Biscuit and Louise Mothersole. They have been working and drinking together for 15 years. They make politically engaged live performance with a DIY aesthetic using a collage of documentary, song, comedy and multimedia. They research, write and perform their own work – their shows have received numerous awards and four-and five-star reviews in the national and international press. Awards include Two Lustrum Awards (celebrating excellence at the Edinburgh Fringe), Off West End IDEA Award for Best Performance 2023, The Holden Street Theatre Award, Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre Award 2020, Critics Circle Award, Sydney Fringe Best Theatre Award 2024, and two Scotsman Fringe First Awards 2016 and 2019.
Following the success of their show …..Or What’s left of Us in 2024, this year they have performed it at Shedinburgh in Edinburgh, Soho Theatre London, Bristol Old Vic Theatre, Lisbon and at the Melbourne Fringe and Sydney Fringe festivals.
