Theatre Royal Windsor is delighted to announce that musical star MARTI WEBB and singer and screen icon ANITA HARRIS are to return to Windsor to play Fairy Bowbells and Queen Rat in the panto classic Dick Whittington, marking an extraordinary eighty years of traditional pantomime at the historic theatre.
ANNE HEGERTY will now perform as Queen Rat from 18 Dec – 6 Jan only, due to her being whisked away to the jungle, allowing Marti Webb to join the fun from 23 Nov – 16 Dec.
Marti, Anita and Anne join the nation’s favourite fox BASIL BRUSH, much loved DJ MIKE READ, Windsor favourites KEVIN CRUISE and STEVEN BLAKELEY and terrific supporting company and live band.
Whilst apologising for any inconvenience caused by Anne’s schedule change, which was completely out of the theatre’s hands, in true theatrical tradition the show must go on! So everyone at Theatre Royal Windsor wishes Anne a safe and speedy trip back from the dreaded jungle, and looks forward to her thrilling Windsor audiences soon.

Dick Whittington is getting ready to help us celebrate 80 years of traditional Panto here at the beautiful Theatre Royal Windsor. Get ready for even more laughs, slosh and days of Christmas than ever before!
We have new stars…including Anne Hegerty, The Governess from The Chase and we have your old favourites…Basil Brush is back, as is Mike Read, the legendary DJ, and Anita Harris, the showbusiness icon! We are also delighted that the musical theatre legend, Marti Webb, who will be joining us for the first four weeks! Of course Kevin Cruise, Windsor’s calamitous comic returns along with our resident dame Steven Blakeley, who’ll be getting his frock on for a 10th year!
We hope you’re as excited as we are. It’s guaranteed to be one to remember!
Basil Brush
Basil has celebrated over 50 years in entertainment and appeared in countless television shows. He is a celebrity in high demand and often shows up in the most unexpected places. Recent television appearances include The One Show, Easy Peasy Eco-Beebies, The Weakest Link (which he won!), Fame Academy, Blue Peter and many more. He even popped up Down Under to win the Australian game show Talking Bout Your Generation – proving that he is the smartest fox on the box!
Marti Webb
Marti Webb is an English actress and Musical icon, who appeared on stage in Evita, before starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s one-woman show Tell Me on a Sunday in 1980. This included her biggest hit single, ‘Take That Look Off Your Face’, a UK top three hit. Marti’s West End debut was in Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, a show that starred and had lyrics by Anthony Newley, but she first came to prominence as Ann Pornick in the original London production of Half a Sixpence opposite Tommy Steele.
Anne Hegerty
Anne is one of the chasers on the show The Chase and a well know television personality, and is making her debut on the Theatre Royal Windsor stage as the infamous Rat Queen! Anne has made appearances on a number of other quiz shows, including Mastermind, Fifteen to One, Today’s the Day, Are You an Egghead? and Brain of Britain. As of October 2016, she was ranked 55th (and second among women) in the World Quizzing Championships!
Anita Harris
Anita is an English actress, singer and entertainer. She appeared in the Carry On films, Follow That Camel and Carry On Doctor. Her first professional engagement was a singer with the easy listening vocal ensemble the Cliff Adams Singers. In the 1970s, she appeared on various television programs, including The Morecambe & Wise Show.
Kevin Cruise (Martin Cabble-Reid)
The Britain’s Got Talent finalist sails back to Windsor for his eighth panto! Over the last year Martin has travelled all over the UK performing at Holiday parks, shopping centres and festivals including Glastonbury in the Basil Brush Show as ‘Mr Martin’ Basil’s trusted side kick!
Steven Blakeley
Our writer and Dame returns for his ninth Panto in Windsor! Steven is a popular face on television and has appeared in a host of TV programmes, including Holby City and Emmerdale as well as four series of ITV’s Heartbeat which earned him a nomination at the National Television Awards.
