STAR IN THE WEST END RETURN OF
HEATHERS THE MUSICAL
OPENING AT THE THEATRE ROYAL HAYMARKET
FROM 22 JUNE – 11 SEPTEMBER 2021

We are watching you…
In response to today’s government announcement about the third round of the Cultural Recovery Fund, I’m pleased to share a comment from Jon Morgan, director of Theatres Trust:
Theatres Trust is pleased to see the announcement of the third round of Cultural Recovery Fund with the final £300m now confirmed by government. The CRF has been a lifeline for the sector. We understand that applications are due to open shortly and it is essential these additional funds swiftly reach theatres who have been impacted by the delay to step 4 as well as supporting theatres during the rest of the year as they navigate the return to full audiences.
“GRAMMY-NOMINATED STAR MAKES HER THEATRICAL STAGE DEBUT THIS AUTUMN!”
Grammy-nominated Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt will make her theatrical stage debut by joining the cast of Hilary Bonner’s scandalous thriller Dead Lies.
RED Entertainment is thrilled to announce that Kimberly Wyatt will join the previously announced Clive Mantle (Casualty, Holby City, Game of Thrones), Harriet Thorpe (Absolutely Fabulous, Wicked), John Lyons (A Touch of Frost, The Mousetrap), Jacqueline Leonard (Coronation Street), Patrick Pearson (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and Ashford Campbell (9 to 5 the Musical, Dreamgirls, The X Factor)
The UK tour of Dead Lies will open at the Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple prior to its first National Tour.
Kimberly Wyatt will play the role of Kate in Hilary Bonner’s brand-new thriller Dead Lies.
The Pussycat Dolls member was scheduled to embark on a world tour with the band this year, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic it has been postponed. This, on the other hand, has allowed her to pursue her acting career by joining the cast of Hilary Bonner’s thriller. This is Kimberly Wyatt’s first stage piece. Wyatt’s is no stranger to acting, being a series regular on BBC/Netflix show Almost Never in the role of Sasha Small.
“I had been looking to do a play for some time and had read multiple scripts but couldn’t find a character that I really wanted to create. Then I was sent the script for Dead Lies and as soon as I started to read it, I was totally drawn into its world of lies, murder and sexual indiscretion. I could not put the script down and read it from start to finish in the blink of an eye, I was totally gripped.” – Kimberly Wyatt
Kimberly, known from The Grammy-nominated girl group, sizzled onto the pop scene in 2005 with their debut album PCD and had a string of hits, including Don’t Cha and Stickwitu, both of which reached number one in the UK charts.
Kimberly has since branched out from her popstar beginnings, joining Adam Garcia and Ashley Banjo as a judge on the hit Sky1 UK show, Got to Dance and being crowned Champion on the BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef.
On joining the cast of Dead Lies in the feisty role of press secretary Kate Compton, she is to Peter George (played by Clive Mantle) what Alistair Campbell was to Tony Blair.
“Kate is in the centre of all the drama, she’s really sassy, switched on and is hugely influential in the political arena. She is very much like a Dominic Cummings or even Alastair Campbell figure but thankfully she has the style of Carrie Johnson” – Kimberly Wyatt
The world premiere of Hilary Bonner’s psychological thriller Dead Lies embarks on a national UK tour in autumn this year starting at Queen’s Theatre Barnstaple from 14 – 19 September 2021. It will continue with weekly engagements at the Forum Theatre, Malvern (21 – 25 September), Lichfield Garrick (28 September – 3 October), Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield (5 – 9 October), King’s Theatre, Portsmouth (19 – 23 October) and Peterborough New Theatre (26-30 October). More venues to be announced shortly.
Dead Lies is written by Hilary Bonner and directed by Joe Harmston. The cast is Clive Mantle, Kimberly Wyatt, Harriet Thorpe, Jacqueline Leonard, John Lyons, Patrick Pearson, Ashford Campbell.

Kids Week is back this August with over 30 London shows participating
Tickets on sale 10am Wednesday 30 June at officiallondontheatre.com/kids-week
Kids Week is #BackOnStage and this much loved, long-running initiative is the perfect way to introduce your family to the magic of live theatre over the summer holidays – from hit musicals and plays to comedies and family favourites.
Kids Week tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday 30 June, available from OfficialLondonTheatre.com. For the first time ever, we have extended the offer from ages 16 and under to 17 and under, as so many will have missed out on their last Kids Week experience due to lockdown, and we want to ensure that as many young people as possible can be welcomed into our theatres.
During Kids Week, a child goes free when accompanied by a full paying adult to participating shows throughout August. We have had to set it up slightly differently this year, so although it will be the same fantastic deal in terms of what you pay, instead of one full price ticket and one free child ticket it will be presented as two half price tickets. As always, additional children go half price.
The safety of audiences and staff throughout Kids Week is our highest priority. Our industry-wide See it Safely mark, displayed at theatres across London, assures theatregoers that participating venues are following the latest Government guidance for live arts events.
Kids Week bookers can benefit from our ‘Book with Confidence, Exchange with Ease’ pledge, allowing them the opportunity to be able to exchange up to 24 hours prior to a performance if they are unable to attend due to Covid. As in previous years, we have set up an Access Priority Request Form for theatregoers with access requirements, available from 12pm on Friday 25 June until 6pm on Sunday 27 June.
We will assist with your trip planning by recommending the safest ways to travel to and from our theatres, the majority of which are within walking distance of a main line station or Q-Park car park (which offer parking discounts to theatregoers).
This year we sadly won’t be able to offer our show-linked activities, but we will be running a special programme of free theatre-themed activities in partnership with the Mayor of London, with more details coming soon. We will also be highlighting a host of other London activities in partnership with the Let’s Do London campaign, to ensure you make the most of your trip.
Emma De Souza, Kids Week founder and Head of Marketing & Communications at SOLT, said:
‘After an incredibly hard year for the theatre industry, it is a joy to bring back Kids Week – we know how much of a beloved and hotly-anticipated part of the theatrical calendar it is! We cannot wait to welcome regulars and first-time families back into the West End this summer to enjoy the magic of a live show.
‘Theatre is nothing without its audiences, and we are so grateful to everybody who can support Kids Week and help our industry rebuild. Please treat yourself and your family, and enjoy the best theatre that London has to offer.’

Full casting announced for Zoe Cooper’s new play THE FLOCK
Chichester Festival Theatre’s Minerva Theatre, 6 – 28 August
The full company has been confirmed for the world premiere of Zoe Cooper’s new play The Flock, which runs at Chichester Festival Theatre’s Minerva Theatre from 6 – 28 August, with a press night on 12 August.
Stacy Abalogun, Samuel Barnett, Selina Cadell, Nick Fletcher, Victoria John and Libby Maiwill be directed by Guy Jones.
The parishioners of All Hallows Church are putting on a production of Noah’s Ark, one of a cycle of mystery plays performed by all the local parishes. The Bishop is hopeful the project will help paper over the cracks revealed by an unfortunate incident involving an evangelical, a glass of wine and an angry liberal.
Rory, All Hallows’ vicar, wants to keep a low profile, and his partner Simon is happy to provide musical accompaniment but would rather he wasn’t given any lines, thank you very much.
The congregation, however, have other plans. For Patricia, the show is an opportunity to show off the church’s artistic talents, while the curate, Hannah, hopes it will give her a chance to get to know the parishioners better. Meanwhile, Fin becomes ever more infuriated at Rory’s hands-off approach and teenager Erin just hopes that this is a family where she might find a home.
Above all, Rory wants to keep the ship – and his relationship – afloat. Can this battered vessel still offer its clergy and congregation sanctuary in the storm?
Compassionate and funny, The Flock depicts the bumpy road to inclusion for this community, asking how we can live and worship alongside one another when our differences are so marked. How do we remain together when we’re so far apart?
Zoe Cooper’s plays include the award-winning Jess and Joe Forever, and Out of Water (Orange Tree/RSC) which – directed by Guy Jones – was a Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist and shortlisted for the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright.
Stacy Abalogun plays Hannah; her theatre credits include Poet in Da Corner (Royal Court) and As You Like It (Shakespeare’s Globe), and on screen, the forthcoming Death on the Nile. She was nominated Best Recent Graduate at the 2020 Black British Theatre Awards.
Samuel Barnett (Simon) last appeared at Chichester in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead; his many stage credits include Olivier and Tony-nominated roles in The History Boys (also on film) and Twelfth Night; and on screen, The Lady in the Van and Twenty Twelve.
Selina Cadell (Patricia) also makes a welcome return to Chichester, where her appearances include The Dresser and The Government Inspector. Her other theatre work includes People and The Habit of Art (National Theatre), while her extensive TV roles include Mrs Tishell in all 10 series of Doc Martin.
Nick Fletcher (Rory) previously appeared at Chichester in For Services Rendered; his theatre work also includes The Deep Blue Sea (National Theatre) and A Doll’s House (Young Vic/West End/New York), while TV includes Father Brown and Outlander.
Victoria John (Fin)’s many appearances at Theatr Clwyd include The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Cyrano de Bergerac and All My Sons; TV includes Miranda and Little Britain.
Libby Mai (Erin) was nominated for the BBC Audio Drama Award’s Best Debut 2021 for The Girl with a Pearl Earring (Radio 4); this is her professional stage debut, having graduated in 2021.
The Flock will be designed by Natasha Jenkins, with lighting by Zoe Spurr, sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, musical direction and musical arrangements by Tom Brady, movement by Chi-San Howard and casting by Charlotte Sutton.
One performanceeach week will be socially distanced.
The Flock is sponsored by Genesis Town Planning
In a time when the world seems to be stood still, this reimagined digital production of [Title of Show] explores two questions:
How do artists still create in the midst of a global pandemic? And – perhaps more importantly – how do people communicate and connect in 2021, when human connection is of upmost importance, but seems impossible.
[Title of Show] is a musical that chronicles its own creation from inception to opening night on Broadway – in other words, it’s a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical.
Jeff and Hunter, two struggling writers, hear about a new digital musical theatre festival. However, the deadline for submissions is a mere three weeks away. With nothing to lose, the pair decides to try to create something new with the help of their friends Susan, Heidi and Mary.
With the cast in place, Jeff and Hunter begin a conversation about what to write about. Eventually, Jeff suggests they write about what to write about.
They make a pact to write up until the festival’s deadline and dream about the show changing their lives.
“[Title of Show]” – – taken from the space on the festival’s application form which asks for the [title of show] – – follows Hunter, Jeff and their friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression.
They write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists. [Title of Show] is, above all, a love letter to musical theatre, and to the joy of collaboration.
Trigger Theatre present their debut piece, the 2009 Tony Award Nominated Musical, [Title of Show]. This brand new company is formed by collaborators – and long time best friends – Andrew Gardiner and Ellie Higgins, two theatre artists who met during training at university back in 2013. Feeling creatively stunted and stagnant thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew and Ellie set out to find a project that sparked them, little did they know that stumbling across [Title of Show] would result in an experience that not only transformed their creative process, but also their lives forever.
[Title of Show] is available to stream online at 7pm on Friday 25th of June and audiences have access to watch at any time until 7pm on Sunday 27th of June 2021.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/titleofshow
