GET READY TO START ‘DEFYING GRAVITY’ AS WICKED FLIES INTO THE SUNDERLAND EMPIRE 

ALMOST 50,000 TICKETS ALREADY SOLD FOR THE LIMITED ENGAGEMENT

 

WICKED, the West End and Broadway musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, flies in to theSunderland Empire on Tuesday (31 March 2015). The limited 4-week engagement runs until Saturday 25 April.  With almost 50,000 tickets already sold for the run, prices start at just £15 with best ticket availability for midweek matinees.

 

The spectacular, critically acclaimed, multi record-breaking UK & Ireland Tour has sold over 1 million tickets since its premiere in 2013 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and played over 500 performances.

The London production has now been seen by more than

6.5 million people and recently played its landmark 3500th performance.

Wicked has music and lyrics by multi GRAMMY® and Academy Award® winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, musical staging by Wayne Cilento and is directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Olivier Award nomineeJoe Mantello.
